I started at the bottom of this business folding and stamping letters for a successful wholesaler in 2005. During that time I learned how to creatively pull lists for marketing, how to work in a crm, how to vet virtual assistants, what questions to ask motivated sellers. I learned when to use an assignment contract and when it was appropriate to double close. I made relationships with lawyers, title companies and hard money lenders that embraced the business model.
In 2013 I started to focus more on the development end of real estate and opened my first company 2nd City Developers. One of my earlier clients was an overseas hedge fund that was developing multi unit properties on the south and west sides of Chicago. My first challenge was to acquire and rehab 5 multi unit properties. After successfully completing the initial 5 test properties I went on to complete over 400 units and built teams in Atlanta and Florida as well. During this time I got very familiar with the permitting process, the draw process...particularly when working with financial institutions, the order of construction, potential problems to look for, potential inspection issues to look for, how to incentivize workers to get A+ results. I learned how to navigate stop work orders and insurance claims. I made a ton of contacts along the way…architects, GC’s, Realtors, wholesalers, lawyers, etc…
Fast forward to today and I solve problems for hedge funds, wholesalers and private investors alike. I enjoy traveling, architecture and spending time with my children whenever possible!
